Ajang penganugerahan perfilman Amerika Serikat, Academy Awards ke-95, telah mengumumkan daftar nominasinya di Selasa, 24 Januari kemarin.

Dari daftar ini, film drama aksi-komedi fiksi-ilmiah yang juga laris manis di box Office, Everything Everywhere All At Once, sukses memimpin setelah menyabet sekitar 11 nominasi sekaligus.

Nominasi yang didapatkan film termasuk untuk kategori-kategori utama, seperti Best Picture, Best Actress untuk Michelle Yeoh, dan juga nominasi Best Director untuk duo sutradaranya, Daniel Kwan dan Daniel Scheinert.

Menyusul di belakang adalah The Banshees of Inisherin dan All Quiet on the Western Front, yang masing-masing mendapatkan 9 buah nominasi.

Mendapatkan tempat di kategori Best Actor berkat perannya sebagai Elvis Presley dalam Elvis, Austin Butler akan bersaing bersama Colin Farrell (The Banshees of Inisherin), Brendan Fraser (The Whale), Paul Mescal (Aftersun), dan Bill Nighy (Living).

Lawan main Farrell dalam The Banshees of Inisherin, Brendan Gleeson dan Barry Keoghan, pun mendapatkan nominasi di kategori Best Supporting Actor, dan akan berhadapan dengan Brian Tyree Henry (Causeway), Judd Hirsch (The Fabelmans), dan Ke Huy Quan (Everything Everywhere All at Once).

Bintang The Banshees of Inisherin lain, Kerry Condon mendapatkan nominasi di kategori Best Supporting Actress, bersama dengan Angela Bassett (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever), Hong Chau (The Whale) dan juga dua bintang Everything Everywhere All at Once, Jamie Lee Curtis dan Stephanie Hsu.

Tentu saja Michele Yeoh memandu kategori Best Actress, meski ia sebelumnya harus berhadapan dengan Cate Blanchett, yang mendapatkan nominasi berkat aktingnya dalam Tar, selain juga Ana de Armas (Blonde), Andrea Riseborough (To Leslie) dan Michelle Williams (The Fabelmans).

Sementara itu, bersama dengan Daniel Kwan dan Daniel Scheinert di kategori Best Director adalah Martin McDonagh (The Banshees of Inisherin), Steven Spielberg (The Fabelmans), Todd Field (Tar) dan Ruben Ostlund (Triangle of Sadness).

Untuk mendapatkan piala Best Picture, Everything Everywhere All at Once terlebih dahulu harus memenangi kompetisi bersama para nominee lain, yaitu The Banshees of Inisherin, Avatar: The Way of Water, Top Gun: Maverick, All Quiet on the Western Front, Elvis, The Fabelmans, Tar, Triangle of Sadness dan Women Talking.

Riz Ahmed dan Allison Williams bertindak sebagai pemandu pengumuman daftar nominasi Oscar 2023 ini yang berlangsung di Samuel Goldwyn Theatre, Beverly Hills, California.

Academy Awards ke-95 sendiri akan dipandu kembali oleh Jimmy Kimmel dan akan berlangsung pada Minggu tanggal 12 Maret, dan berlokasi di Dolby Theatre, Los Angeles.
