Film blockbuster kolaborasi Marvel dan Sony, Spider-Man: No Way Home, sukses mendominasi daftar nominasi kategori film MTV Movie & TV Awards 2022 yang baru saja diumumkan. Sedangkan serial yang dibintangi oleh salah satu pemain film tersebut, Zendaya, yaitu Euphoria, memimpin untuk kategori televisi.

Film superhero yang dibintangi oleh Tom Holland tersebut mampu menyabet sekitar 7 buah nominasi. Sedang serial remaja tayangan HBO tadi mendapatkan 6 buah nominasi.

Spider-Man: No Way Home yang menyertakan cameo dari Tobey Maguire dan Andrew Garfield tersebut antara lain mengincar gelar Best Movie dan Best Hero.

Sementara itu, Euphoria yang juga dibintangi oleh Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Hunter Schafer dan Maude Apatow, mendapatkan tempat di kategori seperti Best Show dan Best Fight.

Untuk kategori film, The Batman yang dibintangi Robert Pattinson dan Zoe Kravitz, juga menyabet berbagai nominasi atau tepatnya 4 sekaligus, termasuk Best Performance untuk Robert. Adaptasi terbaru Dune yang dibintangi Timothee Chalamet pun menyabet beberapa mominasi sekaligus.

Para pemenang Movie & TV Awards 2022 akan diumumkan di sebuah perhelatan yang berlangsung di Barker Hangar, Los Angeles, pada tanggal 5 Juni. Tahun ini rupanya akan berlangsung semalam saja alih-alih dua malam sebagaimana biasa. Sejauh ini siapa yang akan menjadi host belum diumumkan.

Para fans bisa terlibat dalam ajang pemilihan ini, yang termasuk dalam 26 kategori yang bersifat gender netral dan juga nominasi-nominasi baru, seperti Best Song, Here for the Hookup, Best Reality Return, Best Music Documentary, Best Reality Romance, Best Reality Star.

Proses voting sudah dibuka di MTV.com dan akan berlangsung hingga tanggal 18 Mei 2022.
