Daftar nominasi untuk BAFTA (British Academy Film Awards) ke-75 telah diumumkan EE British Academy Film Awards di tanggal 3 Februari ini.

Dari daftar ini, diketahui jika film fantasi-petualangan-fiksi-ilmiah garapan Denis Villeneuve, Dune, memimpin dengan peraihan 11 nominasi sekaligus.

Menyusul di belakang Dune adalah film drama Jane Campion, The Power of the Dog, dengan 8 nominasi, film semi autobiografi Kenneth Branagh, Belfast, dengan 6 nominasi, dan Licorice Pizza (Paul Thomas Anderson), No Time to Die (Cary Joji Fukunaga) dan West Side Story (Steven Spielberg) dengan masing-masing 5 nominasi.

Di kategori film terbaik, Dune, The Power of the Dog, Belfast dan Licorice Pizza akan bersaing untuk memperebutkan pialanya bersama film satir Adam McKay, Don’t Look Up.

Semenjak tahun lalu ada perubahan dalam peraturan BAFTA yang sengaja didesain agar nominasinya lebih bervariasi dan adil (rasio gender yang setara untuk beberapa nominasi misalnya), serta memberi kesempatan yang lebih besar untuk film-film yang lebih kecil.

Oleh karenanya, tidak mengherankan, meski Dune mendapatkan nominasi terbanyak, namun sang sutradara, Denis Villeneuve, tidak mendapat tempat di kategori sutradara terbaik. Begitu juga dengan Branagh dan Spielberg. Alih-alih, mominasi jatuh kepada Campion, Anderson, Aleem Khan untuk After Love, Ryusuke Hamaguchi untuk Drive My Car, Audrey Diwan untuk Happening dan Julia Ducournau untuk Titane.

Di kategori aktris utama, Lady Gaga (House of Gucci), mendapatkan nominasi bersama Alana Haim (Licorice Pizza), Emilia Jones (CODA), Renate Reinsve (The Worst Person in the World), Joanna Scanlan (After Love) dan Tessa Thompson (Passing). Sedang nama-nama kuat yang tidak berhasil masuk antara lain adalah Nicole Kidman (Being the Ricardos), Olivia Colman (The Lost Daughter), Penelope Cuz (Parallel Mothers) dan Kristen Stewart (Spencer).

Sedang dalam kategori aktor utama, Denzel Washington, Andrew Garfield, Bradley Cooper dan Javier Bardem tidak mendapat tempat tahun ini dan digantikan oleh Adeel Akhtar (Ali & Ava), Mahershala Ali (Swan Song), Benedict Cumberbatch (The Power of the Dog), Leonardo DiCaprio (Don’t Look Up), Stephen Graham (Boiling Point) dan Will Smith (King Richard).

Para pemenang BAFTAs 2022 akan diumumkan di tanggal 13 Maret mendatang di kota London. Berikut daftar nominasinya:
