The Favourite melesat menjadi pilihan utama oleh Online Film Critics Society dengan mendapatkan 8 buah nominasi.

Film terbaru Yorgos Lanthimos yang berkisah tentang penguasa Inggris, Ratu Anne, dan dua perempuan yang berebut perhatiannya, tampaknya memang menjadi favorit terkemuka di musim penghargaan kali ini, setelah mendapatkan 5 buah nominasi Golden Globe, 3 nominasi Screen Actors Guild Awards nods dan 10 nominasi London Critics’ Circle Film Awards.

Selain Lanthimos yang mendapakan nominasi Best Director, film mendapatkan nominasi Best Picture. Sementara tiga aktris-nya, Olivia Colman sebagai Anne, Emma Stone sebagai Abigail Hill dan Rachel Weisz sebagai Sarah Churchill, mendapatkan nominasi Best Actress dan Best Supporting Actress.

Film juga berkesempatan untuk mendapatkan Best Original Screenplay, Best Editing dan Best Cinematography.

Menyusul di belakangnya adalah drama berseting 70-an karya Alfonso Cuaron, Roma, yang mendapatkan 7 buah nominasi, yaitu untuk kategori Best Director dan Screenplay bagi Cuaron, dan Best Actress untuk Yalitza Aparicio.

Kemudian ada film terbaru Barry Jenkins, If Beale Street Could Talk, yang mendapatkan 6 buah nominasi, termasuk Best Director, Best Supporting Actress untuk Regina King, dan Best Adapted Screenplay.
