Masih melanjutkan musim penganugerahan film, Screen Actors Guild baru saja mengumumkan daftar nominasi mereka untuk SAG Awards ke-23, yang akan memberi anugerah kepada pencapaian dalam aspek akting dalam film, televisi, radio, komersial dan media profesional lainnya. 

Nominasi untuk SAG Awards 2017 memberi banyak cinta untuk Manchester by the Sea yang mendapatkan 4 nominasi, meskipun folm seperti La La Land pun tak kalah mendapat tempat juga.

Berdasarkan rilisan daftar nominasi SAG Awards ini, film-film seperti Hidden Figures dan Captain Fantastic pun mulai menunjukkan geliat mereka di musim penganugerahan. Sayangnya, salah satu film yang banyak berbicara di musim ini, Moonlight, tidak mendapatkan begitu banyak nominasi seperti yang diharapkan atau diperkirakan. 

Sedang dari ranah film blockbuster, Captain America: Civil War dan Doctor Strange juga mendapatkan nominasi. 

Screen Actors Guild merupakan guild utama pertama yang mengumumkan nominasinya sebelum pemilihan nominasi Oscar dimulai, sehingga bisa jadi memberi pengaruh akan penentuan para nominee Oscar nantinya.

Selanjutnya kita akan mengetahui daftar nominee dari Writers Guild of America pada tanggal 4 Januari, jelang satu hari sebelum pemilihan Oscar dimulai. Sedangkan Producers Guild of America akan mengumumkan nominee mereka pada tanggal 10 Januari dan Directors Guild of America pada tanggal 12 Januaru, setelah pemilihan nominee Oscar dimulai.

Pengumuman pemenang SAG Awards akan dilakukan pada tanggal 29 Januari 2017.
