Salah satu festival film bergengsi dunia, Berlin International Film Festival, baru saja mengakhiri agenda kerjanya. Di tahun ke 64-nya, festival ini kembali dimeriahkan dengan banyak judul menarik yang datang dari berbagai belahan dunia. Berlangsung pada tanggal 6 hingga 16 Februari, festival dibuka dengan world premiere film terbaru Wes Anderson, The Grand Budapest Hotel yang mendapat sambutan sangat meriah dan berbagai ulasan positif.
Selain Anderson, beberapa nama terkemuka lainnya, seperti Alan Resnais, Lou Ye, Richard Linklater dan Yoji Yamada pun turut merilis film terbaru mereka di festival ini.
Tahun ini dewan juri yang terdiri atas James Schamus, Barbara Broccoli, Trine Dyrholm, Mitra Farahani, Greta Gerwig, Michel Gondry, Tony Leung, dan Christoph Waltz, telah mengumumkan barisan pemenangnya.
Yang menggembirakan, terselip sebuah nama Indonesia di daftar ini, sebuah film pendek karya Aditya Ahmad yang berjudul Sepatu Baru yang mendapat Special Mention di kategori Generation Kplus.
Ini merupakan prestasi yang cukup menggembirakan setelah tahun lalu Indonesia juga turut berpartisipasi dengan diwakili oleh Postcard from the Zoo karya Edwin.
