Everything Everywhere All at Once sukses mendominasi peraihan nominasi untuk ajang Critics Choice Awards ke-28, yang diumumkan di hari Rabu, 14 Desember yang lalu.

Drama-aksi-fantasi-komedi berlatar multiverse garapan duo sutradara Daniel Kwan dan Daniel Scheinert, atau yang dikenal sebagai The Daniels, memimpin daftar nominasi setelah mendapatkan 14 nominasi sekaligus, termasuk kategori utama, Best Picture.

Di kategori ini film akan berhadapan dengan Avatar: The Way of Water, Babylon, The Banshees of Inisherin, The Fabelmans, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, RRR, Tar, Top Gun: Maverick, dan Women Talking.

Sebagai tambahan, film juga menyabet tempat di empat kategori akting, yaitu Michelle Yeoh untuk Best Actress, Ke Huy Quan untuk Best Supporting Actor dan Jamie Lee Curtis dan Stephanie Hsu dalam Best Supporting Actress. Sedang The Daniels dinomimasikan dalam kategori Best Director dan Best Original Screenplay.

Tepat berada di belakang Everything Everywhere All at Once dalam prestasi mengumpulkan nominasi adalah film garapan Steven Spielberg, The Fabelmans. Drama coming-of-age ini mendapatkan 11 buah nominasi, termasuk Best Actress untuk Michelle Williams dua tempat di kategori aktor pendukung bagi Paul Dano dan Judd Hirsch.

Calon pemenang utama lain termasuk garapan paling mutakhir dari Damien Chazelle, Babylon, yang mendapatkan 10 nominasi, dan The Banshees of Inisherin yang mendapatkan 9 buah nominasi.

Tom Cruise mendapatkan tempat di kategori Best Actor berkat aktingnya dalam Top Gun: Maverick, setelah baru saja gagal mendapat nominasi Dalam Golden Globes yang juga baru saja diumumkan.

Tom akan bersaing bersama dengan Austin Butler (Elvis), Colin Farrell (The Banshees of Inisherin), Brendan Fraser (The Whale), Paul Mescal (Aftersun) dan Bill Nighy (Living).

Di kategori Best Actress, Yeoh dan Williams akan berhadapan dengan Cate Blanchett (Tar), Viola Davis (The Woman King), Danielle Deadwyler (Till) dan Margot Robbie (Babylon).

Sementara itu, aktor senior Jeff Bridges akan dianugerahi dengan Critics Choice Lifetime Achievement Award.

Para pemenang akan diungkapkan dalam sebuah perhelatan yang akan berlangsung di Fairmont Century Plaza, Los Angeles, tanggal 15 Januari 2023.on Chelsea Handler didapuk sebagai pemandu acara.
