West Side Story & Belfast Dominasi Nominasi Critics Choice Awards 2022

Bersamaan dengan pengumuman daftar nominasi Golden Globe Awards ke-79, para kritikus film juga telah mengumumkan para nominasi untuk Critics’ Choice Awards ke-27.

Ternyata pilihan dua ajang penganugerahan ini tidak terlalu beda jauh. Belfast garapan Kenneth Branagh juga memimpin dengan menyabet 11 nominasi. Begitu pula dengan film musikal Steven Spielberg, West Side Story, yang juga mendapatkan 11 nominasi.

Berada di belakang mereka adalah Dune dan The Power of the Dog yang masing-masing mendapatkan 10 nominasi. Keempat film ini akan bersaing memperebutkan gelar Best Picture bersama dengan CODADon’t Look UpKing RichardLicorice PizzaNightmare Alley, dan tick, tick…Boom!.


Branagh dan Spielberg sendiri akan bersaing dalam memperebutkan gelar Best Director, bersama dengan Paul Thomas Anderson (Licorice Pizza), Jane Campion (The Power of the Dog), Guillermo del Toro (Nightmare Alley) dan Denis Villeneuve (Dune).

Kejutan datang di kategori Best Actor, saat Nicolas Pig menjadi salah satu calonnya berkat aktingnya dalam Pig. Ia akan berhadapan dengan Benedict Cumberbatch (The Power of the Dog), Peter Dinklage (Cyrano), Andrew Garfield (tick, tick…Boom!), Will Smith (King Richard) dan Denzel Washington (The Tragedy of Macbeth).

Sedang di kategori Best Actress, nama-nama seperti Lady Gaga (House of Gucci), Nicole Kidman (Being the Ricardos) dan Kristen Stewart (Spencer), akan bersaing bersama Jessica Chastain (The Eyes of Tammy Faye), Olivia Colman (The Lost Daughter) dan Alana Haim (Licorice Pizza).

Acara gala Critics’ Choice Awards 2022 akan berlangsung di tanggal 9 Januari dan dipandu oleh Taye Diggs dan Nicole Byer. Berikut daftar nominasinya:
