Dua aktris kenamaan, Maggie Gyllenhaal dan Rebecca Hall sukses meluncurkan debut penyutradaraan mereka melalui The Lost Daughter dan Passing. Aksi di belakang layar mereka kini mendapat juga pengakuan setelah meraih nominasi di ajang Gotham Awards 2021.

Baik Maggie dan Rebecca akan bersaing untuk memperebutkan piala Breakthrough Director yang pada esensinya penghargaan kepada para sutradara baru. Sementara film-film mereka juga siap menyabet gelar Best Feature di ajang tahunan untuk insan perfilman independen ini.

Di kategori Best Feature ini The Lost Daughter dan Passing akan berhadapan dengan film-film seperti The Green Knight, Pig dan Test Pattern.

Sementara itu, para pemeran dalam The Lost Daughter, Olivia Colman dan Jessie Buckley, dan para pemeran dalam Passing, Tessa Thompson dan Ruth Negga, masing-masing mendapatkan nominasi di kategori pemeran utama dan pendukung terbaik.

Selepas tayang secara terbatas di bioskop, baik The Lost Daughter dan Passing juga akan ditayangkan melalui platform streaming global, Netflix, mulai tanggal 31 Desember 2021 dan 10 November 2021.

Sebelumnya sudah dikonfirmasi jika Jane Campion akan menerima piala khusus Director’s Tribute, Kristen Stewart sebagai penerima Performer Tribute, Eamonn Bowles penerima Industry Tribute, dan jajaran pemain The Harder They Fall mendapatkan Ensemble Tribute di Gotham Awards ini, yang rencananya akan berlangsung bulan depan, 29 November, di Cipriani Wall Street yang terletak di kota New York.
